Lee Do is the King of Joseon Dynasty, but, actually, his father Taejong wields absolute power and controls the country. Taejong has killed indescriminately, including family members and comrades, to attain his power. Even his son, the King of Joseon, lives in fear of his father.

Ddol-Bok and his father are servants for Sim On’s family. Ddol-Bok’s father is mentally slow and teased by others. Ddol-Bok is a child who harbors violent intent and takes revenge on those that teases his father. He likes So-Yi who is also a child servant. One day, the royal forces arrive at Sim On’s home. Ddol-Bok, his father and So-Yi are able to run away, while Sim On’s family and his servants are arrested. Sim On himself is not at home. In front of Sim On’s home, they meet the child court lady. The child court lady gives them the secret letter. Ddol-Bok asks So-Yi if the letter is to save people’s lives and So-Yi responds yes. But, So-Yi only pretended to read the letter as she is unable to read. Ddol-Bok’s father goes and meets Sim On and his party as they return from Myung. When Ddol-Bok hands the letter over, the royal forces arrive and arrests all of them. While they are being taken to prison the royal forces also arrest young Ddol-Bok and So-Yi. Sim On and Ddol-Bok’s father are killed in prison. Shortly afterwards, Sim On’s family and servants are enraged and escape from prison. But, they are killed by the royal forces.

At this time, Queen Sohun goes to prison to see her mother. While the prisoners make their escape, Queen Sohun saves child So-Yi. Meanwhle, King Lee Do goes to prison and witnesses the killing of many people. He sees Ddol-Bok running away. The boy reminds him of someone from his own childhood. King Lee Do orders his guard to save Ddol-Bok. The guard saves Ddol-Bok and places him in a barn. Taejong then arrives with soldiers in front of King Lee Do and his guard. Taejong orders his soldiers to kill Ddol-Bok, but King Lee Do stands up to his father to save Ddol-Bok’s life. Taejong asks his son what kind of Joseon are you going to rule over? King Lee Do can’t give a response. Finally, Taejong draws his sword upon King Lee Do’s neck and threatens to kill his own son. In response, King Lee Do orders his guard to kill Taejong if he is killed.

Synopsis

While the president and other high ranking public officials were visiting Myanmar an explosion occurs there set off by North Korean agents. The explosion did not harm the South Korean President, but other South Korean officials were killed. To retaliate for the killing, five high ranking South Korean officials plan a covert operation to go into North Korea and kill North Korean agents. Without the president’s knowledge, bodyguards Lee Jin-Pyo and Park Moo-Yul gather men who will take part in the dangerous mission. The men will be dropped near the North Korean coastline and then enter North Korea to carryout their assassinations. For their return, Choi Eung-Chan (Cheon Ho-Jin) promises to have a submarine waiting for them to carry them back to South Korea.

Meanwhile, the five high ranking South Korean public officers, who initiated the covert operation, changes their minds while the operation is taking place. The officials decide to give up on the 21 special force members taking part in the covert operation.

The special forces members complete their tasks and swim into the ocean looking for the submarine to take them back to South Korea. They spot the submarine waiting for them and attempt to board the submarine. A sniper on the submarine kills all of the special forces members except Lee Jin-Pyo – who survives and swims back to South Korea.

Lee Jin-Pyo, carrying out a promise to his fallen comrade and good friend Park Moo-Yul, goes to Park Moo-Yul’s home and snatches away Moo-Yul’s baby, while Moo-Yul’s wife hangs clothes outside. Lee Jin-Pyo then moves to Thailand with the baby. Lee Jin-Pyo sets up a camp in the jungles of Thailand, while growing and trafficking illegal narcotics. Jin-Pyo also raises the baby Lee Yun-Seong and eventually trains him into an elite soldier.

A few days later, Lee Jin-Pyo loses a foot while saving Lee Yun-Seung from a landmine. While Lee Jin-Pyo is recovering, he finally tells Lee Yun-Seung about his birth father and how he was killed by his own government. Lee Jin-Pyo then vows to exact revenge upon the five government officials responsible for his father’s death.

Synopsis

Medical drama series “Brain” involves around three doctors at prestigious Chunha University Hospital.

Lee Kang-Hoon (Shin Ha-Kyun) is an excellent, but arrogant, brain surgeon at Chunha University Hospital. He came from a poor family background and is still haunted by the painful memory of his father’s death which was caused by the rejection of a doctor. Kang-Hoon has a strong desire to succeed and prove that he is the best. His rival is Joon-Suk (Jo Dong-Hyeok) who comes from a family of doctors and has basically everything. Kim Sang-Chul (Jung Jin-Young) is known as the best brain surgeon at Chunha University Hospital. He also cares about his patients and has a strong dislike for Kang-Hoon.

One day, a young man collapses at an indoor swimming pool and is sent to the hospital. The patient is Unconscious on arrival. Kang-Hoon gives the order to prepare for surgery, but Joon-Suk suggests that they call Kim Sang-Chul to perform the surgery. Kang-Hoon replies that there isn’t enough time and performs the surgery himself, while other doctors observe the operation.

During the surgery, there’s a dangerous moment when the patient’s aneurysm ruptures. At this time, Joon-Suk calls Kim Sang-Chul. Kim Sang-Chul runs to the operation room. Meanwhile, Kang-Hoon manages the operation well and the surgery is a success, but he leaves the last clip for the vice director of the hospital. Kang-Hoon wants to gain the favor of the vice director. Because of her arrogant attitude, he isn’t welcome by anybody at the hospital.

While, Kang-Hoon takes a rest in his office he receives a phone call from his younger sister. Kang-Hoon says he is busy and hangs up. He attends a conference of junior doctors. There Kang-Hoon asks questions to the junior doctors, but none of them are able to answer his questions. Kang-Hoon then asks for their chief doctor who is Ji-Hye (Choi Jung-Won). Ji-Hye is not there. Kang-Hoon yells at them to follow him.

On the way, Kang-Hoon and his partiy happens to meet Kim Sang-Chul and Ji-Hye. Kim Sang-Chul blames Kang-Hoon for not checking on his patient after the surgery.

When Kang-Hoon is back in his office, he begins to blame the others and especially Ji-Hye, who did not graduate from Chunha University. Ji-Hye talks back to Kang-Hoon. Kang-Hoon decides to seek revenge by giving out work. While Ji-Hye is writing a report asked for by Kang-Hoon, Joon-Sook surprises her. Ji-Hye replies that she can’t understand why Kang-Hoon has such a strong dislike for her. Joon-Suk tells her not to confront Kang-Hoon. At the cafeteria, Kang-Hoon eats lunch alone. Joon-Suk asks Kang-Hoon to be nice to Ji-Hye. Kang-Hoon aks him whether he likes her.
